Hi! I’m Misha Sumar, a writer, teacher, and believer in the magic of storytelling. My journey with writing started at Sarah Lawrence College, where I studied creative writing and learned to embrace the messy, exhilarating process of bringing stories to life. After college, I took a detour into the corporate world—a world that, despite its structure and stability, left me feeling disconnected from my creative self.
Then, in the middle of the pandemic, I stumbled into a writing workshop with the Brooklyn Writers Collective. I rediscovered the joy of writing. I became a teaching assistant, then an instructor, and in guiding others through their creative journeys, I found my true calling.
Now, I’m launching Story Lab, an online writing space where writers of all levels can experiment, take risks, and develop their voices in a supportive, generative environment. My teaching is intuitive and process-focused, helping you break through creative blocks, write freely, and find the heart of your story.
If you’re ready to dive into the experiment, I’d love to have you in Story Lab.
